Advocacy & Awareness

Changing Perceptions, Influencing Systems

For children with disabilities to truly thrive, the communities and systems around them must evolve too. That’s why our advocacy work is at the heart of what we do.

Mukisa Foundation actively promotes awareness, inclusion, and equal rights for children and persons with disabilities. We engage parents, educators, policymakers, and the public to challenge stigma, influence policies, and foster positive attitudes toward disability.

Through community dialogues, media campaigns, and partnerships with government and civil society, we amplify the voices of children and families ensuring that inclusion is not just an idea, but a lived reality across schools, workplaces, and communities.

Our Advocacy & Awareness Program focuses on:

Public Awareness Campaigns

We run events and media campaigns to challenge stigma and promote inclusion at all levels of society.

Engaging Policymakers

We advocate for stronger laws, funding, and protections for children with disabilities and their families.

Stakeholder Training

We provide tailored training for service providers, community leaders, educators, and health workers.

IEC Materials and Resource Development

We create tools that help people understand disability, rights, and support options in accessible ways.

Communities of Practice

We connect like-minded organisations and professionals to share insights, strengthen collaboration, and amplify impact.

Children and Youth Participation

We support children with disabilities to share their voices, lead initiatives, and shape the systems that affect their lives.

By shifting hearts, minds, and systems, we’re creating a future where every child is seen, supported, and celebrated.
