Florence Namaganda,  Founding Member/Director

My baby is 15 years old and some! Mukisa is a thriving teenager and It has been such a blessing seeing her grow (of course she is a girl, right?) from just being a pipe dream of a teenager  (  I started thinking about doing something about the situation of children with disabilities when I joined School of physiotherapy at the age of 19. Seeing them for the first time and hearing the parents’ stories made a huge impression on me and shaped many of my life’s decisions thereafter.) to a national organization that supports thousands of children and their family to live a life of hope and dignity.

Just like her name, Mukisa has been blessed from the very beginning with favor from people of all walks of life who have generously and continuously supported to ensure that she continues to open her doors and serve her children, and with grace to see the children in her care improve, flourish and live to their God given potential. Every new child  and family that joins the Mukisa family is a testimony of the love and work that goes on at the center and all the outreaches.

I am beyond grateful to everyone who have been part of this Journey. From my co-founders who chose to walk this journey with me  and have stayed faithful to our cause for the last 15 years, to the board and staff who work daily to make sure that we deliver what we promise , the Donors who give generously and believe in us enough to commit their time and resources, the partners who share their knowledge and resources and especially the  families who trust us with the lives of their precious children.

I pray that the legacy of Mukisa Foundation will never end, that it will grow to reach every child who needs these services here in Uganda and beyond, that the funding streams will never dry out and that her impact will be felt for many life times. And may I have the privilege to see it and be part of it all for many, many years to come

Amen!!!
